The Danish Pastry House is an authentic European boutique bakery, the first of its kind on this side of the Atlantic. Established in 2004 by Ulla Winkler and Kathleen Flahive, the bakery opened to instant rave reviews from the Food Network, Boston Globe, and the enthusiastic eating public of metro Boston. Real imported Danish marzipan and butter lend an unmistakable quality and authenticity to the extensive product line, which features genuine Danish delicacies. Whether you stop by the convivial corner café in Medford or the intimate bakery shop in Watertown, you will be sure to find a little and most delicious slice of Denmark.

We also value the importance of giving back to the community. All unsold morning pastries and breads are donated each night to local charities and homeless shelters. You may have seen us at Chocolate Madness (to benefit NARAL), the Lexington Educated Tastes Event (to benefit the local school system) or Shelter Inc.’s Heading Home Affair (to benefit local shelters and fight homelessness). We also make regular donations (edible and non) to local events and organizations; please contact us if you are interested in having the Danish Pastry House contribute to your noble cause.
